HAYFIELD ARTISTS

I've just been at the first meeting of a new Hayfield Artists group. We're getting organised so watch this space.

Initial plans are to arrange an Open Studio event to replace this year's Derbyshire Open on the Bank Holiday at the end of May.

I should have my studio up and running by then (by 'up' I mean I still have to buy and build it). In the meantime I'm concentrating on a whole lot of smaller work that I can paint from my sofa. 30 canvases were delivered today ranging from 13 x 13cm to 40 x 40cm in size. I'll start working on them next week.

UPDATE

These are exciting times. I'm just completing a few commissions resulting from a very successful Derbyshire Open at the end of May. It was the first showing of my new framed work on board and they almost sold out, not a bad sign.

I'm in the middle of painting a large series of work to be exhibited at the Stockholm and Hamburg Affordable Art Fairs, represented by Bohus Konst in Sweden. My agent Lars is having great success with my work, this year I have had a non-stop demand for more paintings every month. Long may his success remain.

On top of that I have just completed my annual trip around the Northern Art Schools, in search of fresh talent for the Northern Graduates exhibition. This year the show will again be exhibited across two London galleries; The Curwen Gallery (W1) and The Rectory Gallery in Spitalfields (E1). Jill at the Curwen Gallery has also confirmed another large Solo exhibition of my work at the end of next year. More news will follow with opportunities at future art fairs and other upcoming exhibitions.
